Inverclyde Cricket Club Promoted to WDCU Championship Division |

After a hugely successful season last year, Inverclyde were finally awarded promotion up to the WDCU Championship Division.
Inverclyde's newly appointed Captain, Chris Boswell and the rest of the club's committee now has the task of preparing the team for the very obvious step up in class of the opposition. After several years of trying to gain promotion to the Championship it is now time for the club to find a level of consistancy that will help to maintain its status as a Championship side. The club has started it's indoor training sessions in order to prepare for the new season, and all members are looking forward to the challenge ahead.
New members are always welcome, and it would be great to see anyone interested in giving cricket a go come along to the club's pre season indoor training at Lady Octavia Sports Centre, Greenock, every Sunday from 10.00 am till 12.00 noon. |

Inverclyde Cricket Club announces dates for its preseason indoor training. All senior and junior club members are asked to make every effort to attend these sessions. The club also wishes to invite anyone aged 10 and upwards who might be interested in giving cricket a go to come along and take part in batting, bowling and fielding practice. You can even benefit with one-two-one coaching with some of our qualified coaches and experienced players.
It doesn't matter if you've never played before.
Come on give cricket a go, we look forward to seeing you there!

Inverclyde wishes to annouce changes to the club's committee for the 2012 season.
In December 2011, the club held its AGM in the Port Glasgow Town Hall. Many topics were up for discussion including voting for the club's committee for the upcoming year.
The biggest of these changes was the club captain. Stewart Blair had held this position for the last four years, and felt that this was the year for him to step down and allow someone else the opportunity to take over and take the team forward into an new era. The club wishes to thank Stewart for all his effort and commitment during his four year tenure. At the same time, the club wishes to congratulate Chris Boswell after being successfully voted in as Captain for the 2012 season. Chris has been the club's Vice Captain for the last couple of years, so should be well prepared for making the step up. David Blair was voted in as the club's Vice Captain.
Greer Church also stepped down as the President of the club after a five year tenure. Again the club wishes to thank Greer for all the work he has done during this time. Congratulations to Craig Watson for being voted in to take on this important role.
All other positions remained the same as last year.
